Acetabular Labral Tears

Acetabular Labral Tears

The labrum is fibrocartilage which surrounds the socket edge of the hip joint. It helps to stabilise and cushion the joint. When torn it does not heal. It can cause pain and catching in the hip joint. Pain can be treated with arthroscopic minimally invasive surgery.
Small tears can be treated with simple trimming. Larger tears need repair of the labrum to the bone using bone anchors.
